MODAL ANALYSİS OF A RAİLWAY WHEEL WİTH DEFECTS USİNG FEA SOFTWARE

The approach is generated a digital model and to study the mechanical behavior of the wheel; in order to be able to predict Dysfunctions and advocate adequate solutions. for this , it is necessary to characterize the static and the dynamic behavior of the zone containing tearing of metal resulting into breaks and high vibrations caused by a manufacturing defect. The influence of these defects, present in the metal of the wheel, the different defects are with geometrical forms: circular, elliptical and any other form defect. The constraints are analyzed, strictly, around these defects the three cases (new wheel, new wheel with defects and mid-worn wheel with defects on the tread. The calculations were performed for a load level corresponding to the weight of the trailer of the new railcars in Algeria, The Second study concerns the modal analysis of the three cases; using Ansys workbench 14.0
