EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON REDUCING TURBOLAG

For increased pollution control and emission norms followed by automobile manufacturers adding a turbocharger is a viable option. One of the limitation of using a turbocharger is phenomenon of tubo lag which is the inability to supply pressurized air when the engine is throttled. The aim is to fit a turbocharger to a single cylinder diesel engine and to modify it using an air compressor so as to reduce turbo lag. The engine load test is conducted on naturally, turbocharged and twin charged so as to compare their performance.
